Editor’s Letter: Tuscany, the vineyard of Italy

Ciao! Welcome to Tuscany, where I am writing this editor’s letter from a vineyard, Medici Villa of Lilliano Wine Estate, located outside of Florence, Italy. Right now, I can see the sun shining through the beautiful painting in the symmetrical stairwells that lead up to the splendid terrace that directly faces Florence.

The scenery was built by the Malenchini family, the owner of the vineyard back in 1830. Tuscany is so scenic, dreamy and glamorous to resist. Follow me along this trip and discover the elegance of Tuscany to the fullest.

TO EAT

Ristorante Buca Mario

Bistro food, but we must recommend the truffle pasta, one of their florentine steaks and, of course, a glass of vino rosso, produced in Tuscany.

Address: Piazza degli Ottaviani, 16r, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy

All’Antico Vinaio

Trust me, the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. My recommendations would be the La Paradiso and Favolosa.

Address: Via dei Neri, 65r, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy

Trattoria Giovanni

A cosy restaurant serving home-style fresh pasta, and delicious T-bone steak.

Address: Via Sant'Agostino, 38 Rosso, 50124 Firenze FI, Italy

Trattoria 13 Gobbi

Rigatoni served in a big glass bowl is probably their most popular dish. Trattoria 13 Gobbi is extremely popular and is loved by the locals, bookings are required.

Address: Via del Porcellana, 9R, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy

TO SEE

Medici Villa of Lilliano Wine Estate

Booked a wine-tasting tour for €40, lasting 1.5 hours, starting at 11:30 am. The wine expert Giovanni was exceptionally experienced and knowledgeable about their famous Tucan produce and the villa's history and story. I also got to visit the cellar underneath the villa.

It's located right outside of Florence, a 25-minute journey by taxi. P.S. Uber is uncommon in Florence, getting a local taxi is recommended.

Address: Via Lilliano e Meoli, 82, 50012 Grassina FI, Italy

Tenuta Villa Poggio Torselli

And other recommendations of Tuscan vineyards, which I wanted to visit, they also do the wine-tasting tour, and the warm, sun-blessed garden is absolutely beautiful and elegant.

Address: Via Scopeti, 10, 50026 San Casciano in Val di Pesa FI, Italy
