Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, has a creative food scene, an open-minded attitude, and an innovative design culture. The city is full of history, youthfulness, and lively energy. And the best part? Amsterdam is very much walkable; you can get anywhere within 30 minutes.

It is my second time visiting Amsterdam, believe me, the second time is a charm. It is a perfect weekend getaway destination, and you would want to come back for more.

TO EAT

Cantine de Caron
Seasonal Fish Stew - heart-warming dish for the cold rainy weather

Cantine de Caron

This restaurant was the first stop that I visited once I arrived in Amsterdam, and it was delightful. Cantine de Caron is located in the middle of historic Westerpark, which began as a gas factory in 1885 and was transformed into a vibrant cultural park in 2003. Its industrial chic interior, amazing French dishes, and wide range of wine offerings captivated me.

Buurtcafé De Tros

A vibey wine bar located in Amsterdam East, serving a small, seasonal menu, where it's guaranteed you'll find something to love. It offers cosy atmosphere, perfect for a girl's night or a romantic date night. Beef tartar, Lasagna and the 'Smash Burger' are the must-order dishes.

TO SHOP

Sara - the founder of Mesure

Mesure

Mesure is an Amsterdam-based fashion brand creating made-to-measure tailoring pieces for modern women. It has a beautiful showroom in Valeriusplein, I booked an appointment and had my body measured by Sara - the founder of Mesure. It was a lovely experience, highly recommend Mesure!

Those Dam Boat Guys

I treated my friend and myself to a boat trip as we had both never been on a boat trip on the canal looking at Amsterdam. the experience was very enjoyable and I loved they held a smaller group boat tour. I prefer a quieter and imtimate experience.

Loved our captain's sense of humour, a very knowledgeable gentleman and he shared a lot of hidden architectural stories of Amsterdam.
